Minecraft Live 2024 Release Date Announced: Packed with New Content and Updates

Minecraft fans rejoice! Mojang Studios has officially revealed the date for Minecraft Live 2024. Set for September 28th at 1 PM EDT, this annual livestream event will showcase exciting new content, updates, and announcements!

Minecraft developer Mojang Studios has announced that this year's Minecraft Live will air on September 28. This virtual event, packed with all sorts of Minecraft-related announcements, has evolved from Minecon.

In early September, Mojang Studios mentioned its future plans regarding the development of Minecraft, which celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2024. The team also noted some changes to its annual interactive livestream, Minecraft Live, including a shift to a more focused biannual event that will no longer host Minecraft's often controversial crowd vote campaigns. More than a week after Mojang Studios revealed these changes, the company has already revealed the date for the next Minecraft Live.

Owain Jones, Director of Creative Communications at Mojang Studios, announced in a recent blog post that Minecraft Live 2024 will take place on September 28 at 1 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. According to Jones, this year's event will feature a new look and feel while still being packed with news, with him claiming that never-before-seen Minecraft game drops will also appear on the stream. Mojang Studios previously promised to provide multiple free game drops for Minecraft throughout the year, rather than only releasing one during the summer like last year.

Apart from showing off new content and explaining future updates, Mojang Studios may also reveal more details about Minecraft's Sony PS5 port during the next Minecraft Live. A preview for this version of the game included improvements such as higher quality graphics settings and native 4K resolution support. Mojang Studios, which is porting Minecraft to the PS5 as part of its initiative to bring the game to as many devices as possible, also claimed in September that it would be exploring ways to enhance the game's multiplayer experience.

Minecraft's latest major update, Tricky Trials, arrived in June. It introduced new procedurally generated underground structures called Trial Chambers that contain challenging enemies and lots of loot. The 1.21 update for Minecraft also added new items, weapons, and even mobs.
