MLBB 8th Anniversary Patch: What’s Confirmed and What We Expect

With Mobile Legends: Bang Bang turning a corner into its 8th-anniversary milestone, players are in a frenzy. This much-anticipated anniversary update, due to release on September 27, 2024, promises a raft of new features and events meant to celebrate this milestone with great fanfare. Here is a rundown of what one should expect from this highly anticipated update.

New Loading Screen and Themed Lobby

To celebrate its eighth birthday, MLBB will reveal a brand new loading screen and a themed lobby. On this very special anniversary edition, MLBB will display special anniversary-dedicated art and animations on the new loading screen, including key milestones, iconic characters, and thematic elements that capture the essence of the event. This will engulf players even deeper into the anniversary with unique decorations and background music. The screen will be interactive, but also expect special, anniversary-themed features taking in the theme of the event, making the pre-game even more interactive and festive.

Special Anniversary Exchange Tokens

From anniversary-limited items, using Anniversary Exchange Tokens will be available for collection as commemoration. Commemorative items include the following:

 

• Akai's 8th Anniversary Skin: A specially crafted skin for celebrating Akai's in-game journey with a unique design to add a festival flair to his already fearsome appearance.
• Exclusive Avatar Frame: There is also an exclusively distinctive avatar frame that would let players manifest their presence in the anniversary event.
• Anniversary Emote: An emote used in-game to have fun and celebrate.
• Kill Notification: A customized kill notification adding a bit of celebration to each kill the player receives.
• Recall Effect: An upgraded recall animation; when the player heads back to base, an added festive effect will further engage the player into this anniversary event. These items have been crafted only for this event to let players celebrate in style.

New Patch Update

The anniversary patch will also carry Patch 1.9.20, featuring a host of improvements and bug fixes to better enhance the overall gaming experience. As per the advance server changes, Edith's magic power issue during her Ultimate was fixed, and her passive was nerfed to balance damage. Lukas received buffs to improve his early game, with adjustments to his abilities, while Suyou’s Skill 1 control effect was slightly changed. Zhuxin’s base mana was reduced, though Skill 2 saw a lower mana cost. Additionally, bug fixes addressed Suyou's damage reduction affecting true damage. Several events, including Brody "APBren" and new skins for Paquito and Suyou, are introduced, along with updates to the Fragments Shop and Free Heroes rotation.

New Hero - Suyou

Come September 21, 2024, a new season will commence and further add Suyou into the MLBB roster of heroes. This Zhu'an hero is an Assassin/Fighter who focuses on chase and burst damage. Suyou will be suitable for jungling and EXP functions with new gameplay and strategies with his physical melee attacks and unique abilities.

Akai's "Marvellous Maestro" Skin
 

Besides the anniversary skin, Akai will also receive a new skin entitled "Marvellous Maestro," with new animation at entrances and effects that allow the spectacular new look of the favorite tank hero.

Free Epic Skins

A few free skins will be provided in the anniversary event of MLBB:

Kagura's "Jade Blossom" Epic Skin: MLBB players are going to receive this skin for free during the anniversary event, which brought up a cool, elegant, mystical theme of Kagura.

Khufra "Cursed Doll" Epic Skin through the Call Back Friends event for free, this is definitely going to add a new and intimidating look to Khufra's list.
 

Event Asset and Background Updates:

The update will also include new event assets and changes in the backgrounds for further visual enhancement, fortifying the anniversary feel in the game.

 

Optimization for Smoother Gameplay: Besides the new content, MLBB will also optimise some necessary base logics to bring up a smoother and more powerful experience of gameplay. These optimizations will go a long way in enhancing game performances and resolving certain technical issues that hurt the player experience.
