Dead by Daylight movie adaptation coming soon from The Conjuring-Get Out makers Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster

Shortly after announcing Blumhouse Games, a Dead by Daylight movie adaptation is now known to be in development from the parent company. Blumhouse Productions will reportedly be merging with Atomic Monster, the producers of horror movies like Annabelle and the Conjuring series, Malignant, The Nun, amongst others. The survival horror game Dead by Daylight launched back in 2016 to much critical acclaim. Developed by Behavior Interactive, since then, the game has become a name to be reckoned within the genre of survival horrors with 50 million players worldwide. The time is now right with multiple video games making their way into Hollywood, for Behavior Interactive to expand the Dead by Daylight universe with a feature film adaptation. The developers are getting together with Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster for the same.

As reported by Variety, Stephen Mulrooney, the executive vice president at Behaviour Interactive has informed that they’ll be collaborating with Jason Blum of Blumhouse and James Wan of Atomic Monster. Mulroney will be co-producing the movie alongside Blum and Wan. Wan has directed movies like The Conjuring and Insidious, while Blum has produced hits like Get Out and The Purge.
“We know there are so many fans of ‘Dead by Daylight’ out there and think it’s imperative we find someone who appreciates and loves the world as much as we do, to help us bring the game to the big screen,” said Jason Blum, Blumhouse founder and CEO to Variety. “We know our partners at Behaviour and Atomic Monster will help us bring the best version of this game to life.”
Additionally, Behaviour Interactive’s Remi Racine; Atomic Monster’s Michael Clear and Judson Scott; Blumhouse’s Ryan Turek, and Striker Entertainment’s Russell Binder will also be working as executive producers.
The makers of this upcoming film adaptation of Dead by Daylight are now reportedly working to rope in a director and a screenwriter for the project.
