What is the Esports World Cup?
The Esports World Cup is gearing up to be a monumental event set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this summer. With aspirations to be the biggest esports event ever, organizers from the Esports World Cup Foundation have unveiled ambitious plans for an eight-week gaming extravaganza.
The best part? It'll be bringing together gamers, publishers, and enthusiasts from around the globe, and the EWC promises intense competition across a staggering lineup of 19 esports titles. From Apex Legends to Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2 to Fortnite, and League of Legends to TEKKEN 8, top global clubs will clash in Riyadh for a chance at the largest prize pool ever seen in esports history.
The Esports World Cup is set to host 20 individual tournaments, each with its unique format and rules, spanning across a thrilling eight-week period. These tournaments collectively form the Club Championship, where organizations will vie for the prestigious title of Club Champion. With each club's performance across multiple titles being pivotal, the competition promises to be intense and multifaceted, offering a comprehensive showcase of skill and strategy across the esports landscape.

What's the prize pool?
The Esports World Cup has made headlines with its staggering prize pool announcement of over $60 million. This significant increase from the previous $45 million pool at the Gamers8 event, also hosted by the ESWC organizers in 2023, underscores the growing scale and prestige of esports tournaments on the global stage. With such substantial rewards up for grabs, the competition promises to be fiercer than ever as players and teams vie for their share of the riches. The prize pool distribution for the Esports World Cup is as follows:
- Over $33 million was allocated across the 20 individual game tournaments.
- $1.1 million was reserved for MVP awards, recognizing standout participants in each tournament.
- Half of the total prize pool will be distributed among the teams competing in individual tournaments.
- $20 million will be allocated to the top 16 teams participating in the Club Championship.
- A $50,000 MVP award will be granted to an outstanding participant in each tournament.
- Additionally, $7.6 million will be awarded to teams and players who successfully qualify for tournaments at the ESWC.
