Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade Breaks Boundaries with Worldwide Release
The highly anticipated mobile RPG, Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade, is finally making its way outside of Japan. Developer Sumzap and publisher Bilibili have announced the game's international launch.
Approaching the first anniversary of its release in Japan, developer Sumzap plans to take Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade internationally with Bilibili. The pair have opened pre-registration for the mobile title on iOS and Android, but have not yet announced whether the PC version will also release internationally.
A multimedia franchise made up of a manga series, the Jujutsu Kaisen IP first established itself in Japanese magazines in 2018 and spawned an anime adaptation two years later. A free-to-play mobile game based on the brand, Phantom Parade, was then announced in 2021, leading to its eventual release in Japan last November.
However, it's not uncommon for Japanese mobile games to remain in Japan only - even when those games are made by globally recognised studios like Square Enix and Pokémon developer Game Free - meaning Phantom Parade's international release was anything but. Guaranteed
And yet, with a single trailer, a worldwide release has been confirmed for this manga-inspired RPG, teasing a "Jujutsu Kaisen you don't know yet" with turn-base anime-style battles and the exorcism of multiple spirits.
A number of rewards will be made available based on the number of fans who sign up during the pre-registration period, from cubes used to obtain characters in the gacha to a guaranteed winning ticket for an SSR character.

A game in nine different languages, Phantom Parade's expanded rollout has a lot of potential to attract global players - especially when considering that the manga has 90 million copies in circulation. From that perspective, the 10 million pre-registration target suddenly seems pretty reasonable.
On top of this year's pre-registration records, Supercell's Squad Busters hit 40 million and Hoyoverse's Zenless Zone Zero reached a new level, both coming from major players in the mobile space.
