LINKIN PARK to Perform 2024 League of Legends Worlds Anthem "Heavy Is The Crown"

Riot Games teams up with LINKIN PARK for the 2024 League of Legends Worlds Anthem, 'Heavy Is The Crown,' set to debut on September 24, 2024.

Riot Games has revealed that the 2024 League of Legends World Championship (Worlds) Anthem, "Heavy Is The Crown," will be performed by international music legends LINKIN PARK. On September 24, 2024, the song will make its debut. Fans can stream the song on multiple platforms or view the music video on YouTube.

This is a big day for LINKIN PARK since "Heavy Is The Crown" is the follow-up to their huge hit "The Emptiness Machine," which helped the band break out again after a seven-year hiatus. November 15, 2024 is when their upcoming eighth studio album, From Zero, is scheduled for release.

LINKIN PARK member Mike Shinoda stated his pleasure about the partnership with Riot Games, emphasising how the anthem embodies both their distinctive sound and fresh energy. Riot Games' Global Head of Music, Maria Egan, stated that the Worlds anthem has grown to be a much awaited event every year, and that this year's collaboration is particularly noteworthy because of how powerfully "Heavy Is The Crown"'s themes connect to the 2024 Worlds story.

The heritage of earlier Worlds anthems by performers like Imagine Dragons, Lil Nas X, Zedd, and NewJeans is carried on by this song. With the 2023 anthem "GODS" by NewJeans smashing records for the largest launch in anthem history, these anthems have amassed over 10 billion streams across platforms combined.

Top teams from nine regions will compete for the title of world champion in the 2024 League of Legends World Championship, which will take place over the course of three months and be one of the most viewed esports events in the world.
