Electronic Arts has announced a new deal with Marvel, after it's earlier reveal of a new Iron Man game. Here's everything you need to know about these developments including details of the new Marvel games coming soon.

It’s been a month and a half since Electronic Arts’ Motive Studios confirmed its partnership with Marvel for an Iron Man game. And now, in its latest announcement which came yesterday, EA has revealed that their collaboration is more long-term than was suggested. We’ll reportedly get a few more Marvel games, apart from the Iron Man that we already know of. Let’s now check out the details of EA’s latest update, development of the Iron Man game, and more.

EA-Marvel Collab- Details

Electronic Arts has announced that they “will collaborate with Marvel on a long-term deal”. They will be developing “at least three new action adventure games”. All these games will join the Marvel Universe with original stories. The first title is the Iron Man game that we already know of, currently in development at the Montreal-based Motive Studios. The other two titles have not yet been revealed officially. However, we do have some information on the Iron Man game.

Iron Man game- Here's everything we know

Back in September when the game was announced, Electronic Arts revealed it is in the “pre-production phase”. That means, as was confirmed later by Creative Director Ian Frazier, “the game is still very far away”. Regardless, Motive Studios, is currently focusing on expanding its studio from within. This makes even more sense now since the Iron Man game is going to be only the first of the three games coming up.

As for what the game will be like, it will feature an original narrative, as was reiterated in EA’s latest announcement. It will tap into “the rich history of the character, channeling the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark, and enabling players to feel what it’s like to truly play as Iron Man.” It will be a single-player, third-person action-adventure.

Meet the devs

The team behind Iron Man at Motive is led by Olivier Proulx, who has previously worked on Marvel titles like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. The team also features industry veterans JF Poirier, and Ian Frazier. As for Motive Studios itself, they’ve previously worked on titles like Star Wars Squadron. Motive Studios is currently also working on a remake of Dead Space which launches next year in January.

A Black Panther game is coming up

Earlier this year, a Black Panther game was also revealed to be in development at EA itself, by industry insider Jeff Grubb. Grubb said that the Black Panther game is in production at an EA studio, which is led by ex-Monolith Productions boss Kevin Stephens. This game too is reportedly a single-player like Iron Man, but might feature an open-world as per the reports from Grubb.

Except for one poster for the announcement of EA Motive and Marvel collab for the Iron Man game that you can see above, we have no other posters, reveals, or looks of three Marvel action adventures coming up. Naturally, the duration of Disney Marvel’s deal too has not been revealed. However, we do know that the game will be launching on all platforms- that is both console and PC.
